Meet Joy Chapman, one of BC's top-regarded medical estheticians, who has recently relocated to Calgary. Graduating in esthetics from Blanche MacDonald in 1986, Joy continued her education throughout her 40 years of experience, becoming one of Western Canada's first with a Medical Esthetician designation from Rayner Institute of California. She not only specialized in medical facial treatments, teaching and working with the first generations of medical lasers, but also studied in Eastern Ayurvedic and Chinese diagnosis/acupuncture, as well as nutritional counselling certification from I.O.N London, England. She took advanced esthetic training in Brussels and Paris, along with studying massage therapy, including Dr. Vodder's Lymphatic drainage, Esalen, Polarity Therapy, Bowen, Reflexology, Hot Stone, Trager, Swedish, Aromatherapy, and more. She has been an educator, lecturer, innovator, published writer, and sought-after consultant for spas featured in international spa magazines worldwide.
